Malachi 4
1. "For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, and all the proud,
yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn
them up,'' says the Lord of hosts, "that will leave them neither root nor branch.
2. But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing
in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves.
NKJV
Besides the day of salvation, the Apostle Paul tells us of another day God wants
us to experience before the day of final judgement:
Ephesians 4 : 30.
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
NKJV
The day of redemption is a really special day. Redemption means to buy back something
that belonged to you originally, but which slipped out of your ownership at some point.
When God first created human beings, we belonged to Him exclusively. But then we
made the choice to slip away from His ownership because we wanted to be independent
and live our own lives by our own rules. As we know, this choice has messed us up
totally. Many of us have lost our way.
But the Lord Jesus Christ paid the price to buy us back to God's ownership. The
price He paid for us was the sacrifice of His own blood and life.
When I ask the Lord Jesus to apply the blood of His sacrifice to my life, so that
I can be bought back for God and belong to God exclusively, that is the vital day
of redemption for me.
That is the day when God becomes our Father in heaven, and our life begins to go
in God's direction and He becomes our God.
Prayer:
Father, I want my life to go in Your direction.
I want today to be my day of redemption, when I am bought back to You and You
become my Father in heaven.
Lord Jesus Christ, please apply the blood of Your sacrifice to my life and forgive
my sins, so that I can belong to You.
Thank You for giving me Your redemption, which cost Your life and Your blood.
Lord Jesus I love You,
Amen.
